The PHP Foundation

November 22nd, 2021

Today, JetBrains announced the PHP Foundation. You can read the details in their news article.

While chatting with Roman Pronskiy last week. I was quite sad to learn about Nikita Popov's leaving JetBrains, but also very excited to learn about the foundation. I'm amazed that Roman and the team were able to find so many sponsors. I did not hesitate to contribute myself through OpenCollective.

Although some people many choose to overthink it, I believe that this foundation is a great thing for the PHP project. Knowing the people on the temporary administration, some of them for 15 years, I have absolutely no doubt that any decision will be done with the health of PHP in mind. May it live long and prosper!
